“Under the Volcano,” directed by Damian Kocur and produced by Lizart Film sp. z o.o., has been selected as Poland’s Oscar submission!
 
The 49th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia started yesterday, opening with the film Under the Volcano, directed by Damian Kocur and produced by Lizart Film sp. z o.o. This film is Poland’s official entry for the Oscars and is yet another SKP-supported production.
 
Under the Volcano offers an insightful portrayal of the emotional state of the young, intellectual Ukrainian Kovalenko family, who are caught off guard by the outbreak of war on their last day of vacation in Tenerife. Their return to Kyiv becomes impossible, and they instantly transition from tourists to refugees.
 
Congratulations to the creators, crew, and producers, especially Damian Kocur – the director, and Mikołaj Lizut – the film’s lead producer.
