Last Friday saw the opening of the 23rd edition of Millennium Docs Against Gravity – Poland’s largest documentary film festival. The first day of the programme featured the premieres of two films for which SKP provided legal services.
 
The opening film of the festival was “Bez końca” by Michał Marczak – a documentary that premiered in the main competition at Sundance and received an award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. The film follows a father who, after his teenage son’s disappearance near the Vistula river, searches its depths alone, torn between hope and unrelenting grief. The project was handled by Maciej Kubiak and Adrian Chodyna.
 
The same evening brought the premiere of “Ciała wojny” (Bodies of War), directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and Michał Englert – a documentary portraying Ukrainian soldiers’ physical and psychological struggles in the wake of war. The project was handled by Piotr Nikołajuk and Maciej Kubiak.
