Agata Bajno specialises in copyright issues, in particular the music industry, personal rights, protection of image, good name, privacy, reputation of business entities. She advises on various forms of music exploitation, including in film and advertising. Provides legal support to artists, producers, authors, both in terms of negotiating contracts and resolving disputes through mediation.

Agata is a lawyer with an understanding of creators and artists, their sense of the uniqueness and individuality of the works they create, property rights and their protection. For years, she has been bringing together the world of artistic Krakow and the world of artistic Warsaw, overturning stereotypes. Passionate about negotiations, talks, mediation, creating a sense of comfort and security for clients. In her free time, she loves to interact with culture and art, relaxes by travelling and playing tennis.

Experience

She gained her professional experience working with an international music label, an international music publisher (publishing company), collective management organisations for copyright and related rights.
 
For many years she held the position of General Counsel at the world’s largest music label, where she built up the legal department. After the provisions of the 1994 Act on Copyright and Related Rights came into force, during the period of formation of the music market in Poland, she gained experience applying the provisions of the new Act to the day-to-day activities of music producers. She participated in the work of a team of publishers and music producers in creating new structures, agreeing on rules of cooperation with collective management organisations, building new systems of music distribution and implementing international projects in Poland. Along with the development of the music market, she developed new contract templates taking into account new fields of exploitation using her experience and knowledge gained during international training in the music industry. She participated in meetings and contract negotiations of both Polish and foreign stars.

Education

Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. She completed postgraduate studies in Intellectual Property Law at the Jagiellonian University. She is registered on the list of legal advisors at the Regional Chamber of Legal Advisors in Warsaw. She continues her professional development by participating in trainings on copyright law. She is currently attending classes at the postgraduate course Mediation and other methods of alternative dispute resolution at the Jagiellonian University.
